The Players Of Destiny 2 Aren’t Happy About Micro transaction Changes Coming Next Week

Following the official revealing of Drifter Season of Destiny 2 earlier today, Bungie has revealed more about the nuts-and-bolts of what is coming when it goes live in the next week. The latest This Week at a blog post of Bungie features an updated calendar of gameplay, details on three brand new pinnacle weapons earned by reaching the higher ranks in their respective activities, and a look at some pretty important tweaks to legendary weapons with great power. But the change that players are generally unhappy about comes by way of the Eververse Store.
Last year, Bungie put out a new feature in Destiny 2 named the Prismatic Matrix, which gave players a more direct path to acquiring items and products from the game’s store of Eververse microtransaction. The matrix contains ten items and products which rotate on a weekly basis that players can earn via activations, and that comes on top of regular Eververse drops. It was meant to alleviate dissatisfaction with the item store, which was widely criticized as being understocked and overpriced.
With the latest Season of the Drifter, Prismatic Matrixes are being removed in favor of unique bundles which the players can purchase directly using Silver which is the in-game currency of Destiny 2. The idea, apparently, is that all the players can just buy what they want without having to get worried about the lack of RNG. But the change removes a path to Eververse cosmetics, and some players feel it reverts the focus of Destiny 2 back to paid microtransactions.
“As always, we will continue to monitor people’s feedback and work to improve the Eververse experience in each season,” Bungie said. “And when we are ready to try something new and amazing, we will share our plans directly with you.”

Existing Prismatic Facets can be used until March 5, 2019, when the new season will go live. After that, they will become Expired Prismatic Facets which can be turned into 150 Bright dust. Needless to say, some folks are not happy with this, and see this as Bungie trying to get more from the player base, generally in a world in which the studio no longer has the support of one and only popular Activision. We will see next week how the latest system looks, but it is probably also worth noting that players who logged a lot of hours in Destiny 2 game were able to earn all the cosmetics that were in-game, well before a season ended, without requiring to use the Prismatic Matrix much.
The latest update also details the three brand new pinnacle weapons, starting with Oxygen SR3, a precision scout rifle for Vanguard.
Unique perk – Meganeura: Dragonfly deals much more damage based on the number of precision rifle hits made beforehand.
Next is The Recluse, a Crucible lightweight SMG.
Unique perk – Master of Arms: Kills with any present weapon improve the damage of this weapon for a short time.
Last but not least, 21% Delirium, rapid-fire powerful machine gun for Gambit.
Unique perk – Killing Tally: Kills increase the damage of this weapon until it is stowed or reloaded.
The latest new update also showcases settings that are colorblind for the new Gambit Prime armor, which will support settings for protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia, and runs down a complete list of bugs that will be fixed when the new update goes live next week. That happens on March 5, 2019.
