Mozzie, the two-speed defender, two-armor, is a truly unique and amazing operator. His ability to take over attacker drones with his Pest launcher should be quite a powerful one. When using the ability of Mozzie, players can easily launch a Pest at an attacker drone to command it, or players may preemptively choose to trap a hole of a drone, or any other high traffic drone area in order to capture the drone of an enemy. The latter of the multiple options allows the new player Mozzie to capitalize on the false sense of attackers regarding security while droning, and the former need some serious aim skill to properly execute it.
From the point of capture, the new player Mozzie can freely use the drones of the attacking teams against them to give the defenders with unprecedented data and information. The use of the ability of Mozzie slows attackers in a way that is completely unique.
It is true that we have Maestro and Val, but their main intel abilities remain completely passive on a very large basis, as attackers can spot the cams of the defender, and know that they most likely will not move for the duration of the complete match. With Mozzie, the dynamic gets a bit more intensive and complicated because he is just only one quick turn away from relocating the flying drone that is captured to a safe and secure spot away from the line of sight of attackers. From experience, when a player loses sight of a drone that is Mozzie-controlled, it causes a sinking feeling in the gut of the player that causes them to rethink their Rainbow Six Siege instincts. The mechanic greatly adds to the cat-and-mouse nature of Rainbow Six Siege.
Up next is Gridlock, the new 1-speed, 3-armor attacker. We have to say that Gridlock is an extremely interesting and helpful operator when it comes to countering roamers. Gridlock sports the Trax Stingers as her main ability, which transform from a projectile that is thrown into the worst nightmare of a roamer. The Trax device lays down a mat that is hexagon-shaped that is covered in damage-dealing spikes. Not only do the Trax deploy, they multiply in themselves to fill an entire complete space, leaving attackers cut off from entering a particular site, or escaping a gunfight.
Mozzie and Gridlock are refreshing additions to Rainbow Six Siege on all accounts, and it will be quite very interesting to see how all the players find various new strategies to better implement their respective devices.
